BREAKING: NHL'er Released From Team Following a Serious Police Arrest
The Arizona Coyotes have made the decision to place forward Alex Galchenyuk on unconditional waivers in order to terminate his contract just 12 days after signing him.
This comes just four days after Galchenyuk's arrest and subsequent charges by the Scottsdale Police Department.
The 29-year-old had recently signed a one-year contract with the league minimum salary of $775,000 on July 1st. The charges he is facing include private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, and threatening or intimidating.

The Coyotes were reportedly unaware of the off-ice situation involving Galchenyuk. Since being drafted in 2012, Galchenyuk has struggled to find stability in the NHL, being traded four times and signing four contracts as a free agent.
