BREAKING: Patrick Kane's Price Tag Revealed By TSN's Darren Dreger
As we all know the Chicago Blackhawks will be looking to move star forward Patrick Kane at the trade deadline. We also heard that its possible he may require minor surgery that would not allow him to play another game this season. March 3rd is the trade deadline, and we would finally know if Kane will be on the move or not. If he doesn't get moved at the deadline it's unlikely, he re-sings with the Blackhawks in the offseason.
TSN insider for the NHL Darren Dreger reports what the Blackhawks would like in return for Kane if there were to be a trade with the New York Rangers. In a trade for Kane the Blackhawks would want either 2019 second overall pick Kaapo Kakko, or 2021 first round pick Alex Lafreniere as the main return point. In most trades teams are less likely to trade away high value prospects, but Kakko and Lafreniere haven't lived up to the hope that the Rangers have set for them.
Realistically this might not happen as Kane has a no movement clause and gets the final say on where he ends up, but if Kane were to get traded to the Rangers, it would be a huge addition for not only their 5-on-5 play but also their powerplay. Not to mention it wouldn't take him long to get chemistry with his line mates as we would assume he would be thrown on the same line as former teammate Artemi Panarin.
With the trade deadline being less then 5 weeks away keep an eye out for more rumors about Kane to come out.
