The Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks play tonight. Jay Woodcroft, head coach of the Oilers, could be nervous about the Hawks. Chicago is 15-28-4 with 34 points, with Edmonton being 27-18-4 and 58 points, currently sitting in a Wild Card spot.
Now, I don't know why he would be afraid of them at first thought, but there could be a reason. This team is very interesting. You don't know whether they're going to be terrible, or if they're going to be like the Boston Bruins like last game against the Calgary Flames. It'll be interesting to see what coach Luke Richardson does when Jonathan Toews comes back, considering how well those last lines worked.
The Hawks are 8-2 in their last 10 games, and the Oilers struggle to beat bottom 6 teams. Connor McDavid has 89 points in 49 games and scares every team. It's confusing to me how he hasn't won a Stanley Cup yet. But if the Blackhawks can stop McDavid, they should be able to win and Woodcroft clearly knows that.
