Before the draft, it was announced that the only RFA Kyle Davidson would be offering a contract to is Philipp Kurashev. Well, Kurashev is filing for arbitration.
Which means he and the Blackhawks could not come to an agreement on his contract. He'll be assigned a hearing date where a third party will decide his case.
Philipp Kurashev is only 23 years old. He's from Germany but has some Russian heritage as well. Philipp had 9 goals and 16 assists, tallying up to 25 points in 70 games last season.
Now, I get why he's going to arbitration. He's coming off a career year and feels like he deserves a raise, which he does. But I hope Kurashev isn't hoping for too much because he's not going to get it. Even though Chevy filed for arbitration, Davidson still thinks both parties can get a deal done, and he's hoping to do it as soon as possible.
