BREAKING: Reports indicate that Jonathan Toews' NHL career is over
NHL insider Frank Seravalli drops major news regarding Jonathan Toews
Frank Seravalli mentioned the situation on the DFO Rundown, hinting at the uncertainty that can arise in October/November, but for now, rumblings of Toews officially announcing his retirement are now in place.
"hearing rumblings that he could announce his retirement" this summer and it "appears that is the way things are heading."
With over 15 seasons and 1000+ games under his belt, Toews, a long-standing Chicago Blackhawks captain, skipped the 2020-21 season due to an illness, and it has clearly taken a toll on his body as he missed many games last year due to ongoing health issues linked to 'Long-term COVID symptoms'.
It seems as if he will retire a Chicago Blackhawk, if Frank Seravalli's recent reports turn true.
