Blackhawks Goaltender is Heading to Vancouver..
The Chicago Blackhawks let a long list of players hit the free agent market Wednesday when the free agent window opened, Colin Delia, Dominik Kubalik, Erik Gustvafsson, Calvin De Haan, Kevin Lankinen, Dylan Strome and more.
Two things catching Blackhawks fans by surprise on that list, the two goaltenders Kevin Lankinen and Collin Delia. The Blackhawks announced Monday that they have received goaltender Petr Mrazek from the Toronto Maple Leafs, but who will be backing up the new face between the pipes? Well it will not be Collin Delia who played between the pipes for Rockford and shared days in a Blackhawks jersey last season after Marc-Andre Fleury was traded away.
Delia has officially signed a one year contract with the Vancouver Canucks in hope to play a starting role in their minor league system with the Utica Comments, and to serve as a backbone if ever needed to be called up to the NHL if a goaltender goes down injured.
Best of luck Delia!
