Colton Dach is one of the Blackhawks prospects that people have higher hopes for, especially after the departure of his older brother, Kirby Dach. Colton Dach was taken in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft 62nd overall. Dach spent last season with the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL. He even made the WHL B.C. Division first all star team last season. However, now it seems like Dach can't catch a break.

During the Rockets game last night (October 14), Dach took «a high hit to the head» per Mario Tirabassi. Tirbassi also noted that Dach, «missed a large portion of Blackhawks training camp due to concussion protocol just under a month ago.» Once again, Dach is being evaluated for a concussion. This is not what you want to hear or see happen to any player, let alone a young one. Some people overlook the effects of a concussion, but they can be detrimental and can even be a cause for people to walk away from their professional sports career. It's never good to get one concussion, but two within a short period can take a large toll on a player.

This isn't the news you want to hear about a young player, especially one that's a higher draft pick. Dach is still in the evaluation process, but everyone hopes for the best and hope that this doesn't have a major impact on one of the hawks higher ranked prospects.
