Team USA Coach John Tortorella Chose to Drive Over Flying With Canadian Players

The Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach John Tortorella provides us endless soundbites, and today we got another as he chose to drive home instead of sharing a chartered flight with Team Canada players from Boston.
John Tortorella has a curmudgeonly edge, which can sometimes be endearing.
Other times, it's just an endless flurry of soundbites, critiques, and other comments that get him fined, or memorialized in the papers forever.
This time around, after Team USA's defeat by Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off final, instead of sharing a charter flight with two of his own players,
Travis Konecny, and
Travis Sanheim he opted to drive home from Boston.
Regardless, while the first part of the Round-Robin tournament looked to be in Team USA's favor, they failed to account for the tenacity that Canada brought to the final.
Canada would establish early control of the game, and
Connor McDavid would put the stake in the heart of the USA.
While we appreciate Tortorella's grit, and heart it's being a good sport about losing is something else.
Considering he will have to Coach Konecy and Sanheim this week, it might make things a little less awkward.
However, driving home is a choice.
Whether it's a blessing or a curse, it's worth noting that both Flyers players who suited up for Canada didn't have a huge impact on the game.
Sam Ersson would suit up for Sweden and provide decent production stopping 32 of 33 shots in a 2-1 victory over his Head Coach.
Travis Konecny sat as a healthy scratch for both games against Team USA, and he did not find the scoresheet in either of his two games in the lineup.
But neither did his own Team USA squad.
