The Blackhawks received some very good news this morning after an eventful first rookie showcase game last night. IceHogs head coach Anders Sorenson said that Lukas Reichel woke up this morning and «felt great». Reichel took a nasty hit from behind and went headfirst into the boards. Reichel left the game for the time being before returning for the 3rd period in last night's loss to Minnesota.
Reichel was playing a very strong game before the injury. It appears that Reichel has put on some size, but he still looks just as quick and agile with the puck as he did before. Reichel is a big piece of the future for the Blackhawks and projects to be skating in the top six for the Blackhawks this season. Reichel avoiding a major injury on a such a nasty collision is great news for both fans and the organization alike.
