Blackhawks prospect named a semi-finalist for top award
The Mike Richter Award is awarded every year to the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey goalie voted most outstanding in Division 1 during the regular season. The award is named after former Wisconsin goaltender, Mike Richter, who went on to have an outstanding NHL career.
Today the Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Drew Commesso, was named a semi-finalist for the award.
Commesso, was selected by the Hawks 46th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry draft. Since being drafted Commesso has, won a World Juniors Bronze Medal and get was even selected to Team USA's Olympic Team.
Commesso is currently playing for Boston University, where he has posted a 12-8-3 record in 24 games played. He has also put up a .915 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average.
