Throughout the years and decades, hockey fans across the NHL and other professional sporting leagues had paper or cardboard tickets to provide as proof of entry to games. This was the gold standard, and it allowed fans to preserve their evidence in scrapbooks and safes as a memento of the games they attended.

However, with the advent of the internet, barcodes, and QR codes becoming second nature, paper tickets have become almost extinct, making it hard to find one while watching a game.

It seems that the Chicago Blackhawks have decided to turn back time and offer patrons the option to order paper tickets for their collections. There's one catch: it will cost you $10 to receive a paper ticket.

It's expected that most fans will forgo the $10 and opt for the digital copy, as this is the contemporary norm. However, some collectors would like to possess these paper tickets as a keepsake.

Possessing the paper tickets could be a memento that many would cherish, especially in this inaugural season for Connor Bedard. If he were to play a memorable game, those with these paper tickets in hand could proudly say, "I was at this game when he did this."

Of course, the tickets will include a QR code that people can scan to view highlights and related content of the game or the Blackhawks on their phones.

The Blackhawks will play the Boston Bruins at home on Tuesday, October 24th, at 8:30 PM Eastern Time.
