Brandon Hagel Facing Possible Punishment After Throwing a Dangerous Hit
Recently, the�Tampa Lightning's�issues came to a peak when head coach Jon Cooper chose to sideline his top three players for the duration of the game after they produced�one of their worst performances in recent memory, taking a loss.
The Flyers expected a huge reaction from the lightning and lots of aggressiveness in their game. The aggressiveness was chosen by Brandon Hagel, which threw a hit�against Joel Farrebee, a forward for the Flyers.
As Hagel went directly at Farebee and hit him square in the face while he was attempting to clear the puck out of his zone, Farebee fell to the ice surface and many thought he'd been injured. After seeing the tape, it was clear that the hit was controversial, especially given the way his arms were flailing after throwing the hit.
The good news is that Farabee continued to play and doesn't appear to have suffered any harm. On the play, no penalties were assessed.
