After goaltender Petr Mrázek left the game halfway through the second period last night against the Boston Bruins, Alex Stalock played through the rest of the game. It was announced Mrázek suffered a groin injury, and will be out for the beginning of the Blackhawks' upcoming five-game road trip. To serve as the backup goalie, the Blackhawks recalled Anton Khudobin from the IceHogs.
Khudobin has yet to play a game this season, but his career record is 114-91-33 with a .916 save percentage and 11 career shutouts. He came to Chicago along with a 2025 second-round pick after the Blackhawks traded forward Max Domi and goaltender Dylan Wells to the Dallas Stars. He's also played for the Wild, Bruins, Hurricanes and Ducks throughout his career.
Depending on how long Mrázek is out, we might see Khudobin get his first NHL start of the season on this road trip.
