Patrick Kane Gets Choked up When Asked About Leaving Chicago and Adjusting in New York
Patrick Kane was a huge part of the Blackhawks success in the past and has an amazing resume to his name. He has a Hart, Conn Smythe, Art Ross, Calder, Ted Lindsay and 3 cups under his belt and is looking to add another one this year with a stack Rangers team.
Before his game on Sunday against the Penguins he was asked by Colby Armstrong how he was feeling and if there is pressure or if he feels nerves when coming over into a new situation. Kane would go on to say the following..
»Uh yeah you know still trying to find a balance here a little bit, but you know first time in 16 years switching teams, so little bit different, but definitely excited for the opportunity.»
Since being traded Kane has had a tough time adjusting to the new system the Rangers use and hasn't been able to find his groove. He started out on the second line with former line mate Panarin, but coach Gerard Gallent has since broke that line up, and has been shuffling lines around to try and get the best production out of everyone. During the game against the Penguins, Kane started the game on the third line, but during the game would be shuffled around on multiple lines.
In five games with the Rangers so far Kane has 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points while averaging 20:06 of ice time per contest. The Rangers and Kane still have plenty of time to figure things out before the playoffs start.
