Chicago Blackhawks Defensemen is Set to Leave The Organization and The NHL As a Whole This Off-Season
Chicago Blackhawks prospect Jakub Galvas is likely going to leave the organization after this summer and pursue a career in a European league instead of the NHL, according to Scott Powers, a Blackhawks reporter for The Athletic. Galvas, a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, has played in two seasons in the Czech league and joined the AHL's Rockford IceHogs in the 2019-2020 season.
Galvas has only played four games for the IceHogs this season, and it seems that he is considering returning to play in Europe after the current campaign. While it is unclear which European league he will join, this move could provide him with better opportunities to develop his skills and advance his career.
This decision may be disappointing to the Blackhawks, but it is not uncommon for young players to explore other options in pursuit of their dreams. Blackhawks fans will have to keep an eye on Galvas' progress overseas, and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
