According to NHL.com, Connor Bedard's great-great uncle was a defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1949 to 1951. James Bedard only played in 22 games over two seasons in Chicago and tallied two points during that time.
Interestingly enough, another member of the Bedard family played hockey professionally. Tom Bedard played for Milwaukee and Kansas City in the United States Hockey League, as well as Vancouver, Seattle, and New Westminster of the Western Hockey League. Connor Bedard lives and breathes hockey and only wants to take his game to another level. Hopefully Bedard's time in Chicago will lead to great things in the future.
