Connor Hellebuyck's Asking Price Is How Much?
Connor Hellebuyck is a Vezina Caliber goalie tending a terrible team for most of his career.
The Winnipeg Jets, by chance, made it into the 1st round of the playoffs and were knocked out early by the Vegas Golden Knights swiftly, and has only missed the playoffs once in the last six years.
Hellebuyck is tired of Winnipeg and expressed his want to end up on a contender, and free agency could yield that.
But his asking price might hinder that, as his asking term is $9.5 Million AAV, just under Sergei Bobrovsky by about half a million.
Hellebuyck is on the back end of his career and could be a great goalie on a winning team, but who will have him at that price?
The 30-year-old tender's stats last season are pretty great despite the team lacking cohesion in front of him, with four shutouts, 2.49 GAA, and a .920 sv %.
With the salary cap rising soon, someone can add Hellebuyck, but who has the money? How badly will he regress on the back end of his deal?
