In an interview, Carey Price's former coach, Stephane Waite, said the goalie is in good shape and will most likely be ready for Montreal's September training camp. He also said Price is doing everything he can to come back and play more games in the NHL.
"If his knee recovers, Price still has a lot of good hockey left in him," Waite said.
The goalie coach believes Price will not return unless he is 100% recovered. The most interesting thing he said is that Price really wants to win a Cup before he finishes his career. Also, Waite mentioned that the goalie loves the city and Montreal and wants to finish his career there. Stephane Waite believes Price is wavering between staying and moving to a contender team. Given the Habs rebuild, it would make sense for Price to ask for a trade.
The goaltender played only 5 games last season due to his injury. Recently, he received an injection in one of his knees in the hope it will help him recover. With the signing of Samuel Montembault to a 2-year contract a few days ago and Jake Allen's contract, the Habs goalie situation will be interesting to watch next season.
