Dubois Did WHAT!? His Next Destination Revealed..
The Pierre Luc-Dubois sweepstakes are now picking up after he made it through the NHL's free agency frenzy, the Canadian Quebecer Dubois is coming off a 3 year contract of $5 million per season and he has made it very clear that he is not willing to re-sign with the Winnipeg Jets. Dubois is only 24 years of age and has a big body presence (6 foot 3) that any team would love to have as a centerman.
Dubois was born and raised in Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec Canada and it's been rumored that the Montreal Canadiens are front runners to acquiring his rights in hopes to get the Quebec born player home. Dubois figured there was a deal set in stone and he attended the NHL's entry draft in Montreal on July 7th because he thought he would be traded and wanted to hear it in person, live from Montreal.
Hockey Insider Arpon Basu has stated that Winnipeg is currently holding Pierre-Luc Dubois from being traded because they want a player from the Montreal Canadiens that they are not willing to part ways with. Although the player Winnipeg is interested to receive for Dubois is not available, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun believes a deal between the Habs and Jets for Dubois will be worked out one way or another.
