Dylan Strome's name has been thrown around in plenty of trade rumours recently as his contract is near end, expiring after this season is over of his three million dollar cap hit. Dylan Strome signed the three million dollar average contract before the 2020-21 season started the year after having one of the most solid seasons of his career, tallying up twelve goals with a total of 38 points in his second season in the Blackhawks uniform.

Strome is currently have a career high in the goal total category in a season for himself, with still a handful of games remaining. Strome is playing his most confident game that he ever has centering Debrincat and Kane on his wings, as the confidence builds for the 25 year old he has also passed his career total in shots throughout the regular season. One issue with his amazing play? Without a doubt Strome deserves a pay raise, from his outstanding faceoff percentage of 52.67%, & improvement in all aspects of his game the young forward deserves a nice contract.

Kyle Davidson announcing that he does not want his rebuild plan to contain high contracts although Kane & Toews are sucking up $10.5M each, it is unsure is King is willing to give anybody a pay raise at this point. Multiple Blackhawks reporters predicted Strome would be moved at the trade deadline and thankfully he has not. If Strome is willing to take a pay cut and stick around with the rebuilding Blackhawks for multiple more years, there may be a chance a extension with the Blackhawks could be worked out, but likely not.

WATCH: Strome hits the 20 goal mark just a minute into the game, against his former team and with Nick Schmaltz on the ice- ironically the player the Blackhawks traded away to receive Strome.
