Just weeks ago Erik Karlsson was the center of attention throughout the NHL as it was revealed that the league-leading point Swedish defensemen had been actively listed on the San Jose Sharks trade block. Ever since, Karlsson has not been spoken on in trade rumours but more so on the highlight reels each day after he plays, as Karlsson is aging it appears that he is only getting better and better.
We are 52 games in and Karlsson is breaking records with 17 goals and 53 assists, more than most forwards throughout the NHL. But many have now wondered if teams are staying away from Karlsson for issues regarding his attitude as he was caught on camera breaking a common respect rule.
Karlsson coughed up a bad play and the Panthers capitalized on it.
Instead of Karlsson taking his usual seat on the bench he decided to head straight to the locker room, quote unusual as every players at least waits to give their goaltender a tap on the head for encouragement win or lose.
With his cap hit and that attitude combined, you can assume Karlsson will not be finding a new home any time soon.
