The game of hockey continues to get hit with many crucial injuries, and as of late, they sadly seem to becoming more and more common.

From Evander Kane's wrist-cutting incident to now Christopher Tanev of the Calgary Flames taking a slap shot to the back of the head, it proves hockey is not all rainbows and sunshine.

During the second period of play between the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens the scary situation broke out as the Canadiens were on the powerplay and in hopes to tie the game at 1, but defensemen Chris Tanev, who usually is the NHL blocked shots leader put his body on the line- it ended badly.

Tanev was knocked out by the puck and required assistance to get off the ice, no updates have been released since, we send our prayers out.
