NHL Inside Kevin Weekes dropped a truth bomb during the intermission of the Blackhawks' game against the Maple Leafs, it turns out the Blackhawks may have to find a broker to make a Seth Jones trade work.

What does that mean? It means Amy Jones, may have just been attempting to do damage control earlier.
Amy Jones is Seth Jones's mom, who for all intents and purposes has tried to keep the lid shut on trade talks. It makes no sense, but it happened.
Now that Kevin Weekes has made a statement that the Blackhawks are looking to bring in a third team on a possible Seth Jones trade, it seems likely that the Blackhawks' alternate captain could be wearing a different uniform soon.
The Blackhawks will need help with retaining a percentage of his contract after they're already on the hook for half of Mikko Rantanen's deal when Taylor Hall was sent to Carolina.
However, we have no idea when the trade will happen, but this is an interesting development in a story that has been ongoing for months.
Jones, while no longer in his prime makes a nice $9.5 million AAV, awarded to him after he arrived from Columbus to Chicago in 2021.
It was expected that he was going to be a part of a contending team and would be competing for a Stanley Cup.
But that would all fall apart after GM Stan Bowman would have to leave the NHL due to the Kyle Beach incident, and once Kyle Davidson was promoted, a rebuild would begin.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were some of the first major Blackhawks pieces to go after Alex DeBrincat.
Since then, Davidson has reshaped the look of the Hawks into a younger, faster, and cheaper team. They won't win a cup anytime soon.
If Davidson could broker a deal that sends Jones to a contender, perhaps the Blackhawks could save more money that could be allocated to finishing the rebuild, instead of overpaying veterans.
Could the Blackhawks trade the $9.5 million man to say, the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, or Vegas Golden Knights?

If you were GM Kyle Davidson of the Chicago Blackhawks where would you trade defenseman Seth Jones?
