Before the NHL entry draft back on July 7th the consensus believed that Canadian born prospect Shane Wright would be selected first overall in Montreal.
That didn't happen the Canadiens choose to take Slovakian born Juraj Slafkovsky first overall. We knew then Wright wasn't happy going fourth overall to the Seattle Kraken with the look he gave the Canadiens table after be selected.
We finally got footage that popped up on social media between Wright and his father Simon. The Wright family conducted themselves exceptionally well considering the fact Wright believed he was the number one choice for probably over a year.
When Wright was drafted Shane's father did everything a father should reminding his soon he's going to the NHL. Simon's words were shared over social media
"It's not when, I know it's easy to say, it's not when you go it's what you do," said Simon Wright.
Many kids don't ever get drafted or play in the NHL, Wright is and is likely going to be a big star. He could be even more dedicated as he wants to show the Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils, and most of all the Montreal Canadiens they made the wrong pick.
