This former Hawk was traded at the draft last year by new GM Kyle Davidson. His name is Alex DeBrincat.
Alex DeBrincat currently plays for the Ottawa Senators. There were talks about him returning to Chicago, but they might have been shutdown as he may sign a 1-year, $9 million "prove it" contract with the Sens. I thought this year was his prove it deal, but apparently Pierre Dorion (Senators GM) wants to see more out of him, and rightfully so.
Former defensemen Marc Methot is not too happy about the reported $9m deal incoming....
Alex is 25 years old. The Miami native stands at 5'8", 178 pounds. He currently has 23 points in 36 games, adding up to 59 points in 72 games. This is unlike him, as DeBrincat finished off last season with 78 points. But, he and Patrick Kane got seperated, so that could have something to do with that.
I don't blame Dorion for seeing if the Cat can produce more after this season, but it looks like Pierre is going to give Alex what he wants.
