Sam Lafferty, the Toronto Maple Leafs forward who had sat for a couple of games after having a tough few nights during the Tampa Bay series, has emerged as a force on the 4th line against the Florida Panthers.

Aside from the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs are now down three games to none after losing three to two in overtime tonight in game three, Lafferty and his line of David Kampf and William Nylander at times looked dangerous.

After a strong breakout from the Leafs' end into the Florida zone, the Maple Leafs had a two-on-one in which David Kampf passed a slick puck over to Lafferty for his first goal in the playoffs in his career.

This certainly felt good for Lafferty as he needed a boost for his gameplay and gave the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead.

The Leafs ended up losing this game 3-2 in overtime.

Up until now the trade between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Hawks for Lafferty Anne McCabe had been deemed a success as both players had given the Maple Leafs some hope in their playoff run especially during the Tampa series.

The Leafs face the near impossible task now being down three games to none to win four straight to try to get into the Eastern Conference final for the first time since 2002.
