Former Chicago Blackhawks' Dad Publicly Calls Out The Chicago Blackhawks Organization During Interview
Joe Smith, the lead Tampa Bay Lightning writer for The Athletic recently spoke with Brandon Hagel and multiple others regarding the ending of his time in Chicago, and lets just say it didn't include some ''kind'' remarks, especially from Brandon Hagel's father.
A Chicago Blackhawks executive pulled Hagel aside and said ''come with me''
Hagel was ''stunned''. and thought ''there's no shot''. Hagel asked in the elevator with the Blackhawks exec if he'd been traded, the exec did not say a word, but shrugged his shoulders and said ''i don't want to give you the news''.
Hagel said ''i kind of knew at that point''. Kyle Davidson, the Blackhawks general manager told Hagel later on: ''We're trading you, you'll have a good chance to win the Cup''.
Hagel stated his mind was racing, he was alone, his teammates already boarded his flight to Minnesota as Hagel was asked to stay behind, he never got the chance to say goodbye to anybody. Hagel was not aware of which team he was traded to as the deal was not finalized.
Hagel's first call was to his father, Dwayne, who said the following:
The next day, Hagel was on the next flight to Tampa at 6AM and played that day for the Lightning. Next, Dwayne said some harsh comments about the Blackhawks organization:
