Former Chicago Blackhawks Defensemen's Job Taken After Trade
The New Jersey Devils have announced a deal sending Damon Severson to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a sign-and-trade agreement. Severson, a pending unrestricted free agent, has secured an impressive 8-year contract worth $6.25 million per season.
His arrival will strengthen the Blue Jackets' blue line, alongside the recently acquired Ivan Provorov. However, this move could also mean that talented young defenseman Adam Boqvist may be on his way out, as he appears to be heading towards the trade market and his lineup spot is taken.
Keep an eye out for further updates on this developing trade scenario.
