On April 18, 2023, Andrew Brunette, the former Blackhawks winger, experienced a challenging night in South Florida when he was pulled over by deputy sheriffs who accused him of driving under the influence while operating a golf cart.

Brunette, who had recently been appointed as the head coach of the Nashville Predators after serving some time as an assistant with the New Jersey Devils, was captured in a body cam footage struggling to provide coherent explanations in response to the sheriffs' inquiries.

Brunette appeared disoriented and had difficulty articulating his words. Subsequently, he was asked to undergo a DUI test, during which he halted the test and indicated his intention to consult with his lawyer.

Additionally, Brunette informed the officers that he had previously served as the coach of the Florida Panthers at some point in his career. However, this information did not affect the course of his processing.

Today, the same individual who originally posted the tweet, Andy Slater, announced that the criminal charges against Brunette had been dropped.

It is evident that this incident reflects negatively on the NHL, and it is reasonable to anticipate a hearing between Gary Bettman, Bill Daly, and Brunette regarding this matter.
