Forward listed on the trade block after being healthy scratched
It was a hard-fought game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, but the Chicago Blackhawks won it. It appears they will be making more moves during the regular season than they did during the preseason.
During the 2022-2023 season, Andreas Athanasiou had an outstanding year with the team and scored 20 goals and put up 40 points in the process.
It has recently been announced that Kostas Athanasiou has signed a two-year, $8.5 million dollar contract with the Chicago Blackhawks in order to stay with the team for the next two years. However, he has not had a very good start to this season, with just three assists and a minus-two in seven games.
With his solid scoring abilities, Athanasiou can be a solution to the problems of multiple teams, as he is a solid mid-six forward.
If he shopped the trade market, he could find suitors.
But Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks need to have a plan lined up prior to shipping him out.
