The Blackhawks made a trade on draft night in which they sent Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the 13th and 66th overall pick in this years NHL draft. With the 13th pick, the Blackhawks selected Michigan commit Frank Nazar. Here was what he had to say following his selection.

Nazar when asked how he felt hearing his name called:
"Honestly, I didn't know what to think. It was more just jump up and hug my mom. Just kinda enjoy the moment. It was great to be here with my family. Hug all of em. Honestly, we did it together, it wasn't just me. They were there, it was great, and I'm extremely excited"

Nazar on his Dad's reaction:
"Yea he didn't grow up playing hockey, so this is kinda new to him obviously. Just the situation. A few people have like parents or uncles that went through it but this is his first time so he didn't know what to expect. The emotions got to him, so I love it and it was great"

Nazar when asked if "speed" and "competitive" accurately describe him:
"I think you kinda just described it there. Two words I'd say if they [the Blackhawks] ask me. And I think I can bring a lot. Just keep a high pace up in the game, and use my speed to make plays. I think I'm gonna bring a lot to the table"

Nazar on who he see's as his player comp:
"I like to say I play a little like Brayden Point. Obviously, I'm not as complete a player as him right now, but that's why you gotta work. Go back to work, get in the gym and stuff. So yea I'd say him. Just the qualities, the speed, and being able to score and get into open areas"
