Gotta See it - Wayne Simmonds Throws Massive Hit & Drops The Gloves
Wayne Simmonds is 34 years of age and all fingers are pointing towards the end of his NHL career being just around the corner. Simmonds may only be in his mid-30's, but his NHL career was unlike very many, Simmonds has battled through hip injuries and has never stopped playing a heavy-hitting, tough battling fighting game after fourteen whole NHL seasons!
Simmonds is currently under contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs at a all-time low of annual earnings at $900,000 per season. Simmonds is taking place in the Maple Leafs preseason games to justify where he will fall in the Leafs lineup, *if* he still has it in him and can prove he deserves to be on the team.
Simmonds did not disappoint Friday night against the Ottawa Senators, he threw a massive clean hit against the Ottawa Senators assistant captain Tomas Chabot, and it was a beauty!
Sadly todays NHL game is very soft, like very, and even clean hits turn into a fight needing to happen for some reason. Simmonds did not care, and gave 6-foot 4 210 pound Auston Watson a run for his money, check it out below!
