The Montreal Canadiens drafted Juraj Slafkovsky first overall in this past years National Hockey League draft. Beginning your career in a crazed hockey market like Montreal, criticism comes with the territory, but I don't think he thought it would happen so fast.
According to François Gagnon of RDS, Slafkovsky isn't quite ready for prime tome under the lights. Take a look:
I get it, he didn't have a very good game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but it's one pre- season game. Media are always so quick to judge after one game.
At 18 years old, maybe we all need to take a breath and not judge too harshly. Then again, maybe he was drafted too high and expectations are way too high. Only time will tell.
