Hockey Canada Reportedly Threatened Referees and More
The Western Ontario Super Hockey League released a report via their social media last season.
In short, the statement revealed that Hockey Canada, OHA, Alliance Hockey and OMHA have threatened league officials, citing if the official's work WOSHL sanctioned games, that they will be immediately suspended.
The Director of hockey operations for the WOSHL - Bob Langdon, stated in an interview, that while there's no mandated policy prohibiting officials from working WOSHL games - that there's certainly some things brewing behind the curtains.
The lack of officials working games in the United States and Canada has been an ongoing issue, and the statement revealed why.
According to Langdon, officials refuse to work games, as they have reported abuse from parents, players and other spectators.
Hockey Canada is yet to address the accusations.
