Mackinnon Was Not Happy at All When The Avalanche Drafted Makar (VIDEO)
The Colorado Avalanche are currently running hot in this years NHL playoffs, with their first loss of the cup finals coming in game 3 after two dominating performances. Their first loss since the St.Louis series, the Avalanche swept the Nashville Predators as well as the Edmonton Oilers in four quick games- thanks to their big four.
Mackinnon, Makar, Rantanen and a surprised breakout from Valeri Nichuskin.
Drafting players can be a hit or miss especially there being multiple first overalls from past years not even having or deserving a NHL roster spot currently, there potential drains through the roof.
There is also plenty of hits aside from misses, like Cale Makar going fourth overall in his draft. The lightweight defenseman coming from the AJHL was not expected to make a impact so quickly, breaking so many records and even Gretzky comparing Cale to Bobby Orr- the Blackhawks truly got a steal and their franchise defenseman.
Nathan Mackinnon surely didn't expect anything from Makar when he was drafted, and even thought it was «awful» how they drafted another AJHL player and said there skill was awful.
