It was reported over the weekend that the Boston Bruins had signed former Arizona Coyotes draft pick Mitchell Miller, whose rights were later renounced by the organization, after his actions came to light.
Isaiah Meyer-Crothers mother stated that she, nor her son were notified about the Bruins organization's decision to sign Miller.
The Bruins ultimately terminated Miller's contract and team president Cam Neely ultimately reached out to Mrs. Meyer-Crothers. Neely apologized and spoke on the phone with the victims mother for a reported 45-minutes.
While the gesture is a nice one, it's truly ridiculous and a sore-spot for the Bruins organization, given the fact they hadn't done their due diligence in investigating and finding out the facts before signing the player. Nor did they find out whether Miller made an effort to apologize.
Hopefully, this is a lesson and gives other teams insight of what not to do.
