On Thursday night, the Blackhawks defeated the Flyers in Philadelphia 4-1. It marked the first regular season win in Philadelphia since 1996. The Blackhawks are playing great hockey, winning 5 of their last 6. Everyone is contributing and playing hard.
With the juggling of the defensive pairings this season, Caleb Jones has earned scrutiny from fans for his uneven play and costly turnovers. However, Jones made quite the defensive play in the victory that everyone needs to see.
Jones dove to break up the rush, then had the awareness to get back up and dive in the crease to make an incredible save with the glove to rob the Flyers of a sure goal.
When Jones makes plays like this it makes the turnovers and mistakes that much more frustrating. He has the ability to be a mainstay in a defensive pairing, but can't seem to put it together consistently. Maybe this effort tonight will spark a nice run for Caleb Jones moving forward.
