The New York Islanders did close to nothing in this crazy offseason. The only impactful things they did was trade their 13th overall pick away to the Montreal Canadians for Alexander Romanov and signing former Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Sebastian Aho.
The Islanders got one new player, and that player was Alexander Romanov. They just started announcing things at the end of the offseason, but no new players, just re-signing's. The Islanders offered a contract to Nazem Kadri, but he declined and went to Calgary. New York's fans are angry, and they should be. Team wasn't good enough to make the playoffs last year, why does Lou Lamoriello think the team would be playoff ready with 1 new addition, and letting some people go?
New York re-signed these players:
Noah Dobson
Kieffer Bellows
Dennis Cholowski
Arnaud Durandeau
Paul LaDue
Hudson Fasching
They were also rumoured to be interested in Gaudreau, DeBrincat and other big names. Lou Lamoriello needs to be fired, and nobody is aware on why or how he still has his job.
