Over the weekend, even though there were no actual NHL games due to the All-Star festivities, teams were still busy making moves. Two notable instances involved the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights, each putting a player on waivers.
For the Colorado Avalanche, they put 24-year-old goalie Ivan Prosvetov on waivers.
Prosvetov had played 11 games with the team this season. Rumors suggest this move indicates a chance for goalie Justus Annunen to get some time in the net, possibly sending Prosvetov to the Colorado Eagles in the AHL. During his time with the Avalanche, Prosvetov had a 3.16 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage over 11 games.
As for the Vegas Golden Knights, they waived 24-year-old defenseman Brayden Pachal. Pachal had participated in 17 games this season, contributing 1 goal and no assists for a total of 1 point. With 12 penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of -2, Pachal's future with the team is uncertain.
Additionally, New York Islanders forward Julien Gauthier was waived on Friday but cleared waivers without any team making a claim for him.
