This game was as tightly fought as the series, with Chicago taking a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal from Marian Hossa. Ryan Miller made a crucial save for the Blues early in the second, to keep the score close for his team, reaching behind him to cover the puck just inches away from the line. That save allowed the Blues to tie it up about halfway through the second and it stayed that way until about 3 minutes left when Ben Smith scored Chicago's second of the night. And then less than 2 minutes into the 3rd,
Alex Pietrangelo tied it, again. Both goalies were tried and tested for the remaining 18 minutes to keep the game 2-2.
But, after 7 and a half minute of OT, the Blues made a change at the wrong (for them) time as a fresh Jonathan Toews leapt off the bench, onto the ice, grabbed the puck and put it past Miller for the win.
