Just one of the millions of highlights of why we love and will dearly miss Chicago's Captain.
On this day in 2014, Jonathan Toews scored the OT game-winning goal against historic rival St. Louis, sending the first round series Game 6 to Chicago, with a 3-2 Hawks lead.

This game was as tightly fought as the series, with Chicago taking a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal from Marian Hossa. Ryan Miller made a crucial save for the Blues early in the second, to keep the score close for his team, reaching behind him to cover the puck just inches away from the line. That save allowed the Blues to tie it up about halfway through the second and it stayed that way until about 3 minutes left when Ben Smith scored Chicago's second of the night. And then less than 2 minutes into the 3rd, Alex Pietrangelo tied it, again. Both goalies were tried and tested for the remaining 18 minutes to keep the game 2-2.
But, after 7 and a half minute of OT, the Blues made a change at the wrong (for them) time as a fresh Jonathan Toews leapt off the bench, onto the ice, grabbed the puck and put it past Miller for the win.

Chicago went on to win the series, 4-2, with a stellar 5-1 win at home, advancing to the second round against the Minnesota Wild, which they also won, 4-2. They were eventually knocked out in OT of Game 7 of the Western Conference Final by the Los Angeles Kings, who ended up beating the Rangers for the Cup.

While some parts of one of the best Captains in Hawks' history remain uncertain, several things remain unchanged. He will be in the Hall of Fame. His jersey will be retired in the UC. And no matter where he is, he will always be Chicago's Captain.
