One Chicago Blackhawk Made The Cut For Team Sweden's National Team
The Chicago Blackhawks saddened season is officially over and so is the entire NHL year, what is next? Well, we have already passed the NHL entry draft which took place on the seventh of July, we have passed the free agency window opening, and we have also passed prospect camps starting. And now, the World Juniors are just days away from starting, where the best prospects in the entire world put there talents.
The rosters have been announced recently for last years tournament which was cancelled due to covid, so this is one of two World Junior showcases happening this year, the second tournament takes place in August and the first is right around the corner starting on August 9th if all goes well.
Sadly, not a single Blackhawk made the cut for the Team Canada World Junior roster, but it might be the opposite for the Team USA Roster as the Blackhawks have Frank Nazar, Wyatt Kaiser, Dominic James and Landon Slaggert all at camp looking to make the final cut, but the roster has yet to be announced.
Aside from Team Canada, Team Sweden has also released there official roster, and one Chicago Blackhawks prospect made the cut, Victor Sternborg. You may have not heard of the young draft pick, but you are about too in years to come.
Elite Prospects had this to say about the 19-year old Swedish Hawks prospect:
''Stjernborg has one of the biggest and best motors in the draft. He can run up and down the ice, cover its width a few times, and still have energy for one last rush, one last desperate backcheck or race to a loose puck before a change. He plays with control. He applies himself in his every defensive technique -- angling, shot-blocking, shoulder-checking, puck-sealing, etc. -EliteProspects 2021 NHL Draft Guide.''
