Patrick Kane Has a Big Decision to Make: Surgery? Retirement? He Isn't Sure What's in Store
The Chicago Blackhawks' early elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs has left Patrick Kane reflecting on what could have been. Dealing with a lower-body injury throughout the season, Kane wonders if he could have done more to help his team in the playoffs.
Despite the injury, Kane praised the Rangers' training staff for doing their best to prepare him for the playoffs. Although he did not feel at his best, he acknowledged feeling pretty good. With the season now over, Kane plans to consult with doctors to determine his next steps.
As a free agent on July 1, Kane has yet to decide if he will undergo surgery to address his leg issues. He believes that even a slight improvement in his physical condition could have made a significant impact in the series and finds the situation disappointing. However, he remains hopeful.
Regarding his future, Kane said, "I don't know what's going to happen in that regard. I think the main focus is just the health right now and to get that all figured out."
