Player Breaks Down Into Tears in Front of a Sold Out Arena After His Most Troubling Week Ever
Minnesota Wild defensemen Alex Goligoski celebrated his 1,000th NHL game last night during the Wild's matchup against the red hot Carolina Hurricanes.
It was sure a special game for the 37 year old defensemen who has accumulated 420 points throughout a whopping 1,002 NHL games, but it was also a troubling one.
Goligoski has been the odd man out of the Minnesota Wild's lineup and has been scratch twelve games out of the Wild's 18, and has only played six so far this season. Goligoski mentions ''It has been my most frustrating season out of my seventeen years throughout the NHL''.
The highlight of the game was the defensemen receiving the silver stick, a reward only a few can say they have received after hitting the 1,000 game milestone, but the real highlight was his overtime game winning goal, where you can see below, his family in attendance celebrating.
And to top it all off, his game winning goal came with a post-game interview in front of his family in attendance, where he bawled his eyes out, grab your tissues before watching below..
