REPORT - Dallas Stars Sign Their Young Star to Extension
Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars are in agreement on a contract that will keep the 23-year old winger in Dallas for a few more years.
The deal is 4 years long and will earn Robertson $7.75M annually, bringing the grand total to $31M.
Robertson is coming off the best season of his young career where he had 79 points (41 G, 38 A) in 74 games played.
I'm sure Robertson's agent was hoping for more after Barzal signed for 8 years and over $9M annually after having 20 less points than Robertson.
This contract is good, though, as it rewards Robertson and also allows him to become a free agent at age 27, when he should be right at his prime to earn and ever bigger pay day.
The Dallas Stars hope this extension can help propel the team closer to a title contention down the road, now that they have their young star under wraps for the next 4 years.
