What hasn't much been discussed is a certain depth forward, who has been having himself a solid season despite all of the Hawks struggles thus far. And while the team is not losing purposely, management seems all to aware that a rebuild is upon them and the time to sell and stock draft picks is right now.
One player who could draw some interest for contenders come the trade deadline is Jason Dickinson. While Dickinson wont wow you with skill, he will certainly be a pain in the neck for opposing teams and he will chip in offense while not hurting the team on the defensive side of things.
According to NHL Trade Rumors writer Rob Couch - it is believed that Adam Proteau feels teams might take a swing at the Hawks productive third line centre to add some depth to their squad.
Dickinson sits at sixth overall on the team in the points department and while contenders often don't have a ton of cap space, if the Hawks could retain some of his $2.65 million cap hit and perhaps receive a pick coming back their way, something might catch.
Last season with the Canucks, Dickinson managed just five goals, six assists for 11 points through 62 games. This season, however, he has four goals, six assists for 10 points through 23 games. With his contract in hand and recent production, he could be the perfect bottom six piece for a team pushing towards a Stanley Cup final berth.
