Sam Lafferty has been earning Blackhawks fans' respect ever since he was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. His physical game and high motor has quickly turned him into a fan favorite. However, he may be playing for a new team before the season is over.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Edmonton Oilers have Sam Lafferty on their radar and believe he can be a contributor for their team as the season steams on towards the trade deadline.
Lafferty has 7 points through 24 games to start the season and is only 6 points away from tying his career high for points in a season (13), which he achieved in 50 games for Pittsburgh in the 2019-2020 season. Lafferty has seen an increased role this season in Chicago and hasn't shied away from playing his physical game. He will certainly be a trade target for many contenders over the coming months.
