Just days after being granted clearance by the NHL to sign with any team, the talk is buzzing about where veteran forward Corey Perry might land.
The Chicago Blackhawks cut ties with Perry on Nov. 30, 2023, citing an undisclosed incident, and now the focus is on his potential next destination.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, a guest on the Jeff Marek show, explored the possibilities of Perry joining a Canadian team like the Maple Leafs or Oilers.
However, Friedman raised a pertinent question about whether Perry would prefer to go to a less hectic destination compared to the high-pressure markets of Edmonton or Toronto, which he may refuse to sign with.
Friedman's musings pave the way for various potential landing spots for Perry.
"I just think one of the questions is, is Perry going to want somewhere quieter?" Friedman pondered. "TOR is a loud market, I don't think that's going to work. EDM's a louder market, though I definitely believe they have interest. Are there going to be some teams in quieter situations?"
The speculation gains momentum with a tweet suggesting Florida as a plausible fit, envisioning Perry returning to familiar surroundings in Tampa or finding a seamless fit with the Panthers.
