Red Wings Captain Breaks Down Into Tears After The Team Trades His Best Friend Away
The word is always that hockey's just a business, but there is always different perspectives to it, especially trades that happen unexpectedly.
That is the case this week in Detroit, when they traded lifelong Red Wing, forward Tyler Bertuzzi to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a solid haul of a 2024 1st alongside a 2025 4th round pick. Bertuzzi has spent seven years in Detroit, and has built good friendships with his surrounding teammate, who he calls brothers.
Dylan Larkin is extremely affected by this, the Red Wings captain was best friends with forward Tyler Bertuzzi and sadly had to deal with his departure this past week.
Larkin could not hold back his emotions when asked on the trade, and let them all out:
It is hard to relate to what Larkin is currently feeling, even after signing an 8-year deal with includes $69 million and some change, it really proves money isn't everything sometimes.
