At the time of this trade, I was questioning if this was the right move. But I stand corrected. This was a phenomenal trade by Kyle Davidson.

The Chicago Blackhawks traded Riley Stillman to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Jason Dickinson and a 2024 2nd round pick this offseason. Stillman is 24 years old and was drafted in the 4th round in the 2016 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers. The Canadian stands at 6'1" and is 196 lbs. Riley had 2 goals and 10 assists, totaling up to 12 points in 52 games during his last season with the Hawks. This season, he has 4 points, all of them being assists, in 25 games. Not doing great.

Jason Dickinson is 27 years old, and is also a fellow Canadian. Dickinson really spiked this season, possibly just needed a change of scenery. He has 8 goals and 10 assists, adding up to 18 points in just 45 games. For reference, he had 11 points at the end of the season last year with 62 games played. A 2024 second rounder also came to the Windy City.

At the end of the day, trading a prospect who didn't have much potential and getting this much capital in return is a fleece. Davidson did a good job with this one, and we'll see what he chooses to do at the Trade Deadline this year.
