«The future is here», a new phrase that adorns Rockford Icehogs advertisement this season, and seems to promise that the pipeline to the NHL and the end of this rebuild will start in Rockford. Rockford also named their captains. Garett Mitchell will serve as captain and the trio of Adam Clendening, Josiah Slavin, and Dylan Sikura will serve as alternates.
Rockford comes off a decently successful year, they defeated Texas in the first round of the AHL playoffs. However, they were then beaten by Chicago. The Wolves went on to win the Calder Cup.
This season Lukas Reichel will be my pick as the main attraction in Rockford. The young forward has not made the Chicago roster although he flourished in the preseason.
Season starts tomorrow in Winnipeg, Manitoba, against the Moose, at 2 PM Central time.
